Everyone has something about themselves that they would like to change – or at the very least enhance and make better. At Emerge Medical & Well Spa, we offer a wide selection of dermal fillers, facial fillers, and other injectables to give our clients the facial features they’ve always wanted without having to go through intensive plastic surgery procedures.
While we have been professionally administering dermal fillers for years at Emerge Medical & Well Spa, we understand that not everyone is as familiar with these products and procedures. That’s why today we are taking a closer look at dermal fillers to understand what they are and how they may be a benefit to you.
What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are a non-invasive alternative to minor facial enhancements. With age and other common factors, your skin starts to lose the fat under the skin. While losing fat is generally seen as a good thing, losing the layer of subcutaneous fat can cause your skin to sink and lose fullness, causing wrinkles and other issues. Dermal fillers seek to remedy that issue. With fillers, a solution is injected into the layers of the skin where subcutaneous fat has decreased to restore that layer and revitalize the look of those problem areas. Different fillers use different products in their solutions, so it is important to thoroughly research your fillers before deciding to undergo a procedure.

What Are Dermal Fillers Used For?
Dermal fillers can be used for a number of different treatments. Fillers can add fullness to lips, smooth creases and lines in the face, raise sunken cheeks, and even improve the appearance of scars. Different fillers can be used for different purposes. Juvederm® Ultra XC, for example, is used to plump lips, while Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC is used to treat more intense lines and wrinkles, as well as to shape and contour the cheek and chin area.
Should I Get Fillers?
If you have lines and wrinkles on your face that you would like smoothed out, or if you’ve always wanted fuller lips without having to go through surgery, you may be a prime candidate for dermal fillers. While fillers won’t give as drastic of a change as plastic surgery, they are an excellent option for those who are interested in natural-looking facial enhancements. As always, you should discuss any questions and concerns about the process with a professional before undergoing any type of procedure.
