How to Make Your Eyelash Extensions Last Longer

Eyelash extensions are an awesome way to get the effortless beauty that everyone is searching for. While they can be pricey, eyelash extensions can save you lots of money on mascara and lots of time getting ready in the morning! Eyelash extensions typically last two or three weeks before you need a fill, but there are ways to help them last even longer! Read on to learn some tips for making your extensions last longer from the professionals at Emerge Medical & Well Spa in Tulsa.

Don’t Touch!

As hard as it is to resist, it is important to avoid touching your eyelash extensions. Even if they look out of place, it may be because your real eyelashes are shedding as they do naturally. Let your lashes come out naturally and move your extensions with a spoolie wand if necessary.

Detangle Regularly

To prevent your eyelashes from getting tangled, you should use your spoolie wand every morning to roll through your lashes, detangle them, and keep them defined. Do this by closing your eye and brushing your lashes from the top down the length.

Avoid Oil-Based Products

Oil-based makeup or moisturizers can weaken the glue on your lashes and cause them to fall off prematurely. Try swapping out your eye cream for a lightweight serum, and be sure you don’t get product too close to your lashes!

Be Careful With Eyeliner

This tip may be tough if you love eyeliner, but you should try to avoid it if you can! Removing eyeliner often requires a little bit of rubbing which can cause your extensions to fall out. If you must wear eyeliner, try removing it with a cotton swab and micellar water. You can also try to apply your liner slightly above the lash line!

Clean Them Regularly

After the first few days, start using a gentle foam cleanser on your extensions. This will help your lashes stick longer and clean off any leftover makeup residue! Avoid using cotton balls or cotton pads, as the fibers can get stuck in the glue. Try using a gentle cleansing cloth or even a makeup brush to clean the lash line and avoid pulling off your lashes.

Top 5 Things to Know About Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash Extensions WomanTop 5 Things to Know About Eyelash Extensions

The experts at Emerge Medical & Well Spa know all the details when it comes to eye-catching beauty. We have seen true beauty in all sizes, shapes, styles, and every color of the rainbow! In today’s blog, we explore some of the most important facts to know about eyelash extensions. If you have never tried eye-catching eyelash extensions from Emerge Medical & Well Spa, read on to discover the top 5 things to know!

1) The First 48 Hours Are Important

The first 48 hours after you get your eyelash extensions are important for ensuring that they look great and last a long time. This is the time when your lash extensions are bonding to your real lashes, so it’s important to be gentle with your lashes during the first 48 hours. Exposing your lashes to water or steam will weaken the bond and cause your lashes to lose their lasting beauty. So avoid hot showers, saunas, facials, swimming, and similar activities.

2) Eyelash Extensions Are Long Lasting

It’s great to be able to count on your beauty routine, so you’ll love that you can rely on your eyelash extensions for long-lasting glamour. With a little TLC, eyelash extensions will look great for two to four weeks! At that point, you can have a quick eyelash extension refill.

Emerge Quick Tip: After the appointment when you have your eyelash extensions applied, plan ahead and schedule your refill at Emerge Medical & Well Spa!

3) Eyelash Extensions Are Light

Eyelash extensions deliver bold beauty, but they are surprisingly lightweight! Many first-time eyelash clients worry that their eyelids will feel heavy, but they are always amazed by how airy and effortless the lashes really are. If you love the look of glamorous eyelash extensions but you have been worried about the weight, it’s important to know that eyelash extensions are light!

4) Eyelash Extensions Require TLC

Just like you, eyelash extensions need a little TLC to look and feel great. There are lots of little steps you can take to ensure that your eyelash extensions stand the test of time.

When you are going to bed, avoid smudging your eyelash extensions on your pillow, because it can lead to lost lashes. Be gentle with your lashes when you are using cleansers, wiping your face, or rubbing your eyes.

Lash curlers are a no-go for eyelash extensions because they can cause damage. Mascara is best avoided for the same reason. Of course, your amazing eyelash extensions will look great without the need for lash curlers or mascara!

5) Eyelash Extensions are Versatile

Eyelash extensions are very versatile. They can deliver a dramatic impact or they can provide a more subtle look. Eyelash extensions are truly transformative, whether they are designed to be eye-catching or subtle.

Subtle styles can be used to complement a no-makeup look, elevating your natural beauty. Eyelash extensions can also be used to create dramatic styles with the eye-catching cat-eye look of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Emerge: Should You Get Lash Extensions Or A Lift?

Lash Lift or Lash Extensions – Emerge

I think it’s safe to say we’d all love to wake up with perfectly curled lashes. Putting on makeup can be a hassle, but with lash lifts or extensions, you eliminate the need for a lengthy beauty routine in the mornings. However, how do you choose between these two different lash enhancement options? We’ve written a blog to help decipher some of the differences, pros, and cons of the various treatments so you can make an informed decision!

What is a Lash Lift?

It is essentially a perm for your lashes. The way it works is that the technician applies a number of serums and silicone shields that help shape the eyelashes into a semi-permanent curl that lasts up to 8 weeks. Often, when people get a lash lift, they also opt to get a lash tint so that from the moment you wake up it looks like you’re wearing mascara.

The great thing about lash lifts is they give you a completely natural look. They also require less maintenance than lash extensions. Though both last about 2 months, lash extensions require fillers every few weeks. The lash lift will hold without any additional maintenance required for those 8 weeks.

What are Lash Extensions?

Lash extensions are the addition of false lashes to the ends of your natural eyelashes. Extensions create a beautiful, dramatic look. They add not only length but also thickness. You will be able to choose the length and thickness you want – unlike lifting your natural lashes. You will; however, lose lashes as you naturally shed your own lashes. This is why extensions require you to come in every few weeks to get fillers to maintain that dramatic look.

So, Which One Is Better?

The answer to this question depends on the look you want and how much money and maintenance you’re willing to invest. If you really want a more dramatic look, and you can afford to come in for fill-in lashes, then lash extensions are for you. They are a beautiful choice! If you want something more low maintenance and natural (but still an enhanced lash look), then opt for a lash lift! We guarantee you’ll love your lashes either way!

What to Know About Eyelash Extension – Emerge Medical & Well Spa

Eyelash extensions have become a very popular cosmetic enhancement. Who doesn’t want to wake up with effortlessly beautiful lashes? The convenience and aesthetics of the product are very enticing, but there is a hefty price tag attached to eyelash extensions.

When considering whether or not to invest in a product with a heftier price tag, it’s essential to do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions. Read on to find out Emerge Medical & Well Spa’s answer to common questions about eyelash extensions.

How long do they last?

Eyelash extensions are attached to your natural eyelash; therefore, the extensions fall out as your eyelashes naturally do. Due to this, the amount of time between the initial application and the need for eyelash fills will vary from person to person. Most likely, you will need to go in every 2 or 3 weeks to get your eyelash fills. These will not be as expensive as your full set application.

Will they destroy your natural lashes?

The idea that eyelash extensions will damage your natural eyelashes is a common misconception. If applied and attended to correctly you won’t lose more of your natural eyelash than you would lose naturally on a regular basis. If you come to see us at Emerge Medical & Well Spa you can be sure you’re getting the best in eyelash extension application!

Are they worth the cost?

Though that is something everyone must decide for themselves, we at Emerge Medical & Well Spa think they are definitely worth it! Not only will you save a ton of money on mascara, but you’ll also save a ton of time in the morning when you’re getting ready. Just swipe on some lipstick and, with those beautiful eyelash extensions, you’ll be ready to go! Eyelash extensions will make your eyes pop without any effort at all on your part!

Tips for Taking Care of Your Eyelash Extension From Emerge Medical & Well Spa

Emerge Medical & Well Spa

Emerge Medical & Well Spa Explains How to Care for Your Eyelash Extensions

Whether you’re an eyelash extension enthusiast or a first-timer, you know that eyelash extensions are a significant investment. At Emerge Medical & Well Spa, we believe if you’re going to invest in them you should take steps to ensure their longevity. Below, we’ve listed some way that you can pamper your new lashes so that they stay in pristine condition between eyelash fills.

Keep Them Dry For 24 Hours After Application

After you’ve gotten your initial full set application at Emerge Medical & Well Spa, make sure that you keep your eyes dry for the next 24 hours. During this period, the glue is still drying and getting your beautiful new eyelashes we could undo all the work you just had done. The best thing you can do is leave them alone! Don’t wash them, don’t touch them. Let the adhesive do its job for a day, and then you’ll be good to go!

Avoid oily facial products

Oil and adhesives do not mix! If you want to make sure that your lashes enjoy a long and happy life, make sure that you swap out your oily facial products with something water-based. Oil may cause the glue to dissolve and cause your eyelash extensions to fall out prematurely.

Don’t Rub Your Eyes

This is a good rule of thumb regardless of whether or not you have eyelash extensions. The skin around your eyes is delicate, so it’s best to avoid rubbing. However, this is especially true when you have a new set of gorgeous eyelash extensions.

Don’t Use Waterproof Eye Makeup

Waterproof makeup is tough to get off. It requires aggressive rubbing and oil-based products to remove it effectively. This kind of treatment is a death sentence for your eyelash extensions.

Sleep on Your Back

Sleeping on your back is the best way to keep pressure off your eyelash extensions which will help them last a lot longer. Try sleeping on your back to keep them from rubbing or being pressed against your pillow. Sleeping on your back will also help keep them from getting extra tangled overnight.

Brush Them

To keep your expertly applied eyelash extensions from Emerge Medical & Well Spa untangled and looking good, make sure that you brush them in the morning and at night. Use a clean, unused mascara brush the brush through and untangle your lashes in the morning and at night. Regularly brushing your lashes will help keep them looking good.

Meet Ric

Written by: Ric Harrison

We’d like you to meet Ric, he’s a very close friend of ours that has agreed to share his journey through injectabes with all of you. Take it away, Ric.

Why I chose Emerge Medical and Well Spa.

Hi, my name is Ric. I’m in my early 50’s. I’m married and I’m Poppy to 3 precious boys ages 2, 4, & 6. I’m a professional in the medical field and I consider myself a happy person. The only thing I didn’t like was that I was aging and it showed.

I didn’t like those little lines around my eyes, the lines on my forehead, and the fat under my chin. These are just a couple of reasons I started considering injectables. In the last several years I had some Botox treatments (not on a regular basis) but I liked the results. I knew a little bit, but not enough. I had considered plastic surgery but didn’t like the cost, the risk or the downtime.

I decided to make appointments with a couple of different spas/treatment facilities in the area for interviews that offer the treatments I was considering. I chose Emerge Medical and Well Spa because they gave the best first impression and they appeared to be the most knowledgeable about what they were doing. I like the fact that the people doing the treatments were experienced and educated and I also liked the fact that they told me about the products, how they were made and what I could expect. They didn’t “promise” me that I would look 10 years younger or get the exact results I wanted but they did say they would work with me, to help me get to the best results I could with what I had to work with.  I haven’t been disappointed yet. I have not only become a happy client but I’ve made new friends.

The ladies that have done my facials, my lash extensions, given me Botox, Kybella, Juvederm have become a part of my life. I didn’t realize the vulnerability I would experience while receiving these services. We’ve talked about life, death, kids and just about anything else that came up. We’ve laughed and I’ve even cried as I told the story of my mothers’ recent death.

When I became a client at Emerge I expected (and received) excellent services and results, but what I also received was the unexpected surprise of more inner beauty and that is priceless.

Be Well & Be Beautiful
